(Awarded 7.75 Continuing Education Points by ABC & BOC for Live Portion)

Aetrex, in partnership with NCPA, is now offering a comprehensive educational program to help qualify participants to become an ABC Certified Fitter of Therapeutic shoes.

According to ABC (the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics), “an ABC certified fitter of therapeutic shoes is an individual trained and qualified in the provision of non-custom therapeutic shoes and non-custom diabetic multi-density inserts. A certified fitter of therapeutic shoes is competent to practice within the scope of non-custom therapeutic footwear only.”

The Aetrex/NCPA Shoe Fitter educational program will fulfill the educational/classroom requirement needed to become certified. In addition, individuals must have 250 hours of patient contact which includes the fitting of therapeutic shoes.


A passing grade on a standardized ABC administered test is also required.
