Engineered to Help Reduce Negative Space
No support means lost power, instability, and pain. BAUER // Aetrex® Skate Orthotics are designed to help reduce negative space inside your skate, stabilize the foot from over-rotation, and improve lower body alignment so you can perform at your best on the ice.
Find Your Fit
Designed with data from over 50 million foot scans. Three fits, each tuned to your unique foot shape.
Built for the Ice. Inside and Out.
The Science Behind the Fit.
Aetrex has collected over 50 million foot scans, building the most advanced foot intelligence database in the world. Combined with Bauer's deep understanding of skating mechanics, that science is now engineered into a skate orthotic built to maximize your performance on the ice.
Everything You Need to Know
Do these replace the factory insole or go on top of it?
Remove the factory insole first, then drop the BAUER // Aetrex® Skate Orthotic in its place. Stacking on top of the factory insole will affect fit and performance.
Is there a break-in period?
Some skaters feel a difference immediately. Others need a few sessions to adjust, particularly when switching from a flat factory insole. You can break in the orthotics by wearing them for a couple of hours a day for a week, to allow your feet to adjust to the new support that Aetrex orthotics provide. Within a week or two, you should find the orthotic to be completely comfortable and supportive.
How often should I replace them?
For competitive players, replacing orthotics every season is a reasonable guideline, but it depends on how frequently they are being used. A great way to determine when to change your orthotics is when the support does not feel as strong as it used to.
Are they machine washable?
For orthotics, we recommend spot cleaning with a clear mild soap and a damp cloth, then allow to air dry. You should not submerge the orthotics in water. It is not recommended to place the orthotics in a washing or drying machine.
Can I use these in regular shoes too?
These are engineered for the narrow, stiff shell of a hockey skate. For everyday footwear, explore the full Aetrex orthotic lineup.
