- What is the difference between a men’s 1900 & L 405? I usually get the 405 but saw your Veterans Day sale for the 1900.
- Hi Fred, The L405 Compete Orthotic is part of the Compete series, designed for medium-to-high arches with a cupped heel and a metatarsal pad to help relieve ball-of-foot discomfort. The L1900, on the other hand, is from the Active series. It’s built for athletic and walking shoes, focusing more on shock absorption through a cork-blended core and a Pro-Shox® layer. If your usual L405 works for you and you don’t have specific forefoot pain, sticking with it is totally reasonable. But if you want something a little more cushioned yet rigid and designed for active use, the L1900M is a great alternative.
- Are the orthotics washable.
- Hi Camille, We recommend spot-cleaning the orthotics with clear, mild soap and a damp cloth, and air drying naturally. You mustn't wash or dry them in a machine as this would compromise the integrity of the materials. If any odor is present, sprinkle a small amount of baking soda onto the footbed at the end of your day to soak up the sweat and tap out the powder the next morning.
- How does the L1900 compare to L400?
- Hi Shirley, Both orthotics are designed to support medium to high arches and feature cupped heels to help cushion and stabilize the back of the foot, as well as Pro-Shox® polyurethane centers for superior shock absorption. However, the L400 has a copper-infused top cover and an Aerocell™ polyurethane base while the L1900 features a high-tech polyester top cover to wick moisture and reduce friction and a cork-blended core base for cushioning which makes it slightly thicker at 0.25‚Äù.
- Can I wear the L1900 in the water along the beach? I like to walk the beach barefoot, but need orthotics for long distances. I have waterproof sandals in which I can place the inserts if they can handle the water. What do you recommend?
- Hi Merri-Beth, We do not recommend submerging Aetrex orthotics in water. However, you might consider one of our water-friendly footwear for long walks at the beach.
