"I was hoping for a cushier feel to the shoe. They are not painful to wear at all, but not very shock absorbing. I wanted a shoe that didn't show the cork, but I guess I really like the feel of it as this feels harder. I also find keeping the ankle strap velcro-ed a bit challenging. It is hard to line up straight where it will stay secure when I'm buckling on the outside of my ankle and need to keep my foot in it straight so the tightness of the strap is correct. I needed a shoe for work and I like the look of this shoe. It's just not my favorite."

I have total foot arthritis
"I have total foot arthritis and do need arch support + overall shoe support. I do NOT like squishy shoes like FitFlops or Tevas. But I'm thinking Aetrex shoes are mostly for people with really high arches because the arch in these is over-the-top. Plus very far forward which would be OK if they weren't so high and hard. I do like these shoes - nice style, materials and color - and kept them hoping that eventually I'd get used to them or they would mold to my foot somewhat. I have to wear something, after all and I'm finding it increasingly hard to find anything I can tolerate."
