4 Tips To Relieve & Prevent Sore Feet
Did you know that having sore feet isn't the norm? Even after a long day of walking, your feet shouldn't feel any soreness or pain. It all comes down to your choice of proper and supportive footwear. Here are some easy tips to help relieve and prevent sore feet. Remember, your feet hold your entire body's weight, so you need to take extra steps to keep them healthy.
1. WEAR SUPPORTIVE INSOLES
The most important tip to keep your feet supported and injury-free is to make sure you are wearing proper footwear. To turn your shoes into supportive shoes, we recommend wearing supportive insoles. All Aetrex Orthotics are designed with built-in arch support that helps align the body correctly to help relieve and prevent common foot pains like plantar fasciitis, heel pain, and arch pain. Not only do Aetrex Orthotics help transfer pressure away from high pressures areas, but they also create an equal distribution of pressure as you walk. Just remove the removable insole from your shoes and insert Aetrex Orthotics to feel the Aetrex difference. To find the best orthotics for your feet, take our Aetrex Orthotics Quiz.
2. STRETCH YOUR FEET
Stretching your feet is very important, especially if you spend a lot of time on them. Try this towel stretch the next time your feet need some extra attention. Sit up straight on the ground with your legs extended and knees straight. Place a folded towel around your foot and gently pull it towards you. Hold it for 15 seconds and repeat 3-4 times on each foot. Plantar Fasciitis is one of the most common foot pains and we put together a few exercises to help relieve foot pain and discomfort.
3. REST AND ICE YOUR FEET
Did you know icing your feet after a hard day can help reduce inflammation? We know it could get hard to find the time out of your busy day to relax and ice your feet, but if you are watching tv or resting on the couch just grab an ice pack or even a frozen bag of veggies for a makeshift ice pack.
4. MASSAGE YOUR FEET
Yes, your feet need a massage too! Not only does it feel good (for those that aren't ticklish), but massaging your feet can help improve circulation and relieve muscle aches. You don't have to carve out time in your schedule to go to a spa to get a foot massage, just bend your knee and massage your own feet! Try to spend anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes massaging your feet. You can even use your favorite lotion to knock two birds with one stone: moisturized AND massaged feet!
