Causes
Diabetes can lead to various complications, disrupting the vascular system and affecting areas such as the eyes, kidneys, legs, and feet.
People with diabetes should pay special attention to their feet to manage potential complications effectively. Diabetic foot conditions arise from a combination of factors, including poor circulation and neuropathy.
Neuropathy can diminish sensation in the feet, making individuals less aware of injuries or pressure sores that can develop. Additionally, impaired blood flow due to vascular complications can slow down the healing process, increasing the risk of infections and ulcers if injuries do occur.
Treatment and Prevention
Studies have shown that moderate weight loss and exercising can help prevent or possibly delay type 2 diabetes among adults at high-risk of diabetes. Change your eating habits. Eat smaller portions and less fat. Select fewer high-fat foods and try to use less fat when cooking. Limit foods that are high in saturated fats or trans fat, some of which are:
- Fatty cuts of meat
- Fried Foods
- Whole milk and dairy products made from whole milk
- Cakes, candy, cookies, crackers, and pies
- Salad dressings.
Put more fiber in your diet by eating more whole grain foods & a variety of fruits and vegetables daily, such as:
- Breakfast cereals made with 100% whole grains
- Oatmeal
- Whole grain rice
- Whole-wheat bread, bagels, pita bread, and tortillas
- Dark green veggies (e.g., broccoli, spinach, brussels sprouts)
- Orange veggies (e.g., carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, winter squash)
Most of all stay away from foods that are high in sugar, such as:
- Fruit-flavored drinks

I bought two pairs and were so elated with the comfort that I bought the last two remaining colors. I suffer from Metatarsalgia and was glad to finally being able to walk without discomfort & pain!!”
I love these sneakers.
— Linda P.
I have bought three of the same sneakers, but in different colors. What a difference they have made on my feet. I like to take my dog for walks. I had to stop. My feet were in such pain. With these sneakers my feet are fine now. Thank you Aetrex.”
Comfortable & supportive
— Susanne B.
I bought these to wear at work. I am a Dental Assistant and on my feet most of the day. With other shoes, I would go home with sore feet and low back pain. The Xspress Runner 2 felt comfortable and supportive right from the first time I laced them up - no break-in required.”
